Then, while on a food tour in Nashville—a city I’d visited dozens of times—the guide showed me the place in a completely new way. For the first time, I experienced the city through the eyes of a passionate local, and it clicked: Why am I not doing this in my own city?
(And to the local reading this, come let us show you Lexington through a fresh lens—I promise you’ll see the city in a whole new way!)
So here we are. Welcome to Bites of the Bluegrass. Let’s eat, explore, and fall in love with Lexington together.
Elena is a proud Downtown Lexington gal who fell in love with the city’s warmth, history, and incredible food scene after attending Northern Kentucky University.
A true history buff and Lexington superfan, she brings energy and enthusiasm to every Bites of the Bluegrass tour, sharing fascinating stories, local flavors, and plenty of insider recommendations for guests and locals alike.
She can’t wait to show you why Lexington feels like home to everyone who visits.
Grace is a true Kentucky girl, born and raised, with deep roots in the Bluegrass and a heart for her community.
When she’s not working as an instructional coach for Fayette County Public Schools, you’ll find her tending to her garden, caring for her bees, or happily lost in a good book.
And if there’s a party, festival, or community event happening anywhere in Lexington, you can bet Grace is in the middle of it, bringing her sunshine right along with her.
Dr. Kat is an Eastern Kentucky native who loves all things beer, cocktails, and food, and she brings that passion straight to every Bites of the Bluegrass tour.
She holds a Ph.D. in Educational Policy and Evaluation from the University of Kentucky and blends her love of education, mixology, and southern roots to create unforgettable guest experiences.
Fun fact: Dr. Kat can recite all 50 states in alphabetical order—whatta’ queen!
Lilly is a Lexington native who attended Tulane University for degrees in Linguistics and Anthropology, but the Bluegrass called her home.
She returned to her hometown to put her love of culture, history, and storytelling to work at the iconic Shaker Village of Pleasant Hill.
With a mind for language and a heart for heritage, Lilly brings a thoughtful, engaging presence to every tour—and a deep appreciation for the people and stories that have shaped Kentucky.
